PLMR colleagues to reflect on their proudest achievements from the year

As 2022 came to a close, we asked some PLMR colleagues to reflect on their proudest achievements from the year that was.

Ben Farmer, Senior Account Executive

“My highlight was seeing the British Heart Foundation’s stall at both Labour and Conservative Party Conferences come to life. We worked with BHF for several months to plan their conference activity, including support with development of the stand and related messaging. Despite the challenging policy environment at the time, particularly on obesity policy, the stall was a great success at both conferences with visits from the Health and Social Care Secretary, many other cabinet members, and many key shadow frontbenchers. I really enjoyed working on a project for such an important cause and in a high-profile setting.”

Hannah Tait, Senor Account Manager

“We provided press office and media outreach support for education inequality charity, Teach First, and the team’s proactive approach meant we secured high-profile coverage across The Times, The Independent, The Financial Times, iNews, Schools Week and local BBC Radio stations. A great result for a really important cause.”

Laura Coryton, Account Manager

“Supporting World Afro Day for a second consecutive year, which celebrates hair diversity in schools. For this, we landed coverage in major titles including The Guardian, helping the organisation’s CEO to be invited to contribute to the Government’s anti-racism policy to further amplify the impact of the initiative.”

Mara Antoce, Account Executive

“One of my proudest achievements has been securing four pieces of national coverage in my first month working in PR, including the Mail Online, The Guardian, New York Times, and The Economist, for my client Tulipshare – a fintech platform that fights for change at some of the biggest companies’ AGMs. As a result of this project – and another, for Major Trauma Group where I secured 60-pieces of coverage – I was named the PRCA’s Intern of the Year and have since gone on to thrive in my new Account Executive role.”

Shannon Stewart, Senior Account Manager and Head of Media Training

“Delivering seven tailored media training sessions across one week to a client based in Germany, supporting them in their response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, was a major moment for me. I’ve also been able to travel internationally to provide presentation training to experts due to deliver keynote speeches at an international energy business forum.”

Jasmin De Vivo, Group Board Member, and Maddy Wright, Senior Account Executive

“Supporting the Royal Veterinary College with incredibly important work around educating the public on brachycephalic dogs and the serious health and welfare impacts due to the extreme body shape we have come to expect from dogs such as pugs and French bulldogs. We have supported the promotion of several research studies throughout the year, which resulted in a multitude of coverage spanning vet press, national papers, broadcast – including pieces with ITV and BBC – as well as international press; helping to facilitate awareness and raise the profile of the work being done to shine a light on responsible breeding and buying behaviours.”

Matthew Spencer, Senior Account Manager

“Launching PLMR Healthcomms’s first podcast, On the Frontline, to excellent reviews was a great moment. To date, the podcast has received really positive feedback from Chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee, Steve Brine MP, and recent Minister for Innovation within the Department for Health and Social Care, Lord Kamall. Season Two, coming in 2023, will feature Noel Gordon, previous Chair of NHS Digital, and Steve Brine as starting guest speakers!”

Tiffany Beck, Head of Education

“Our Education Practice was a finalist at the EducationInvestor Awards for Strategic Consultancy, and I was a Finalist for Education Business Woman of the Year. Both of these meant a great deal to me because our team works so hard for our clients – from schools and trusts through to further education and universities, edtech, charities and more – to build and manage their reputations, supporting them to make a big impact on the children and young people they serve. We get to see that impact day in and day out – having our support recognised was brilliant.”

Maurice Richmond, Account Director

“I am most proud of the work PLMR has undertaken for Signature Senior Lifestyle, entering it for 50 categories across a range of social care sector awards and securing nominations as finalists in 37 of those categories, representing a 74% success rate in a very competitive sector. It is by no means the full extent of our work for the client, however they found it gratifying and it served as a source of motivation for all those nominated.”
