Learning and Development

Everyone at PLMR is intelligent, creative, and hungry to learn more about the art of communications. To match this curiosity, learning and development is the biggest investment we make each year.

Our learning and development support starts right from the moment you join PLMR. Whether you are starting as an Intern or Account Executive, or as a more established PR professional, we have a career development programme for you.

Our learning and development offer includes:

  • Personal training budgets, to be used on any course colleagues feel to be beneficial
  • Bespoke LEARN & LEAD programmes, which invite external and internal experts to deliver masterclasses on the PR industry and managing people.
  • A wellbeing series aimed at promoting our internal initiatives and to provide useful guidance on how to manage your own wellbeing;

No training programme at PLMR stands still and we are always reviewing our training to ensure the courses provided are the most beneficial to our colleagues.

Wellbeing

We offer staff access to a Wellbeing Series, providing guidance on how to manage stress in the workplace, how to manage the cost-of-living and the financial anxiety that may come with this, as well as providing techniques to practice mindfulness.

Personal Development Budget 

In addition to the training programmes we have created, all colleagues also benefit from a personal development budget that they can spend on training to further enhance their knowledge and skills. Whether they want to learn about how to gain clients’ confidence, how to manage an account or client relationships – the options are endless.

Oxford SAID Business School

As your career progresses through PLMR, senior and long-serving colleagues have the opportunity to study one of the excellent courses provided by University of Oxford’s Said Business School. Examples of programmes that colleagues have previously enjoyed, include:

Coaching and Mentoring

Throughout a career at PLMR we provide bespoke mentoring and career coaching, tailored to your skills, experiences and career aspirations.

This includes sessions with an industry-specialist coach who has more than 30 years’ experience in business and PR Agency leadership. These are private sessions in which colleagues and their coach identify areas of development and work on these together.

Through membership of the Global Communications Alliance, we also offer colleagues the opportunity to participate in an international peer mentoring programme.

In addition to all the above, we run bespoke business-related programmes for our management and senior leadership teams, ensuring that we continue to grow the business, ourselves as a team, and our ambitions, purpose and values year on year.
