Ollie is PLMR’s Managing Director. He was named UK Consultant of the Year by the PRCA in 2020 and specialises in strategy, public affairs, media relations, reputation management, and crisis communications.

Ollie joined PLMR from the Department for Education, where he was chief press officer to the former Prime Minister Liz Truss and to former Secretaries of State and Ministers including Michael Gove, Nick Gibb, David Laws and Lord Nash. He led on all schools issues and gained positive coverage across the media for the Government’s education reforms. He also organised speeches, events, school visits and press conferences, and prepared and briefed Secretaries of State and Ministers ahead of media interviews and Select Committee hearings. During his time at the DfE, he was also seconded to the 10 Downing Street press team when David Cameron was Prime Minister, and won a place on the Government Communication Service’s inaugural talent management programme.

He works with a range of clients across sectors to raise their profile and ensure they achieve their objectives, and has a track record of delivering positive national and local broadcast and print coverage by understanding campaign requirements and by developing bespoke, clearly-messaged and carefully targeted PR plans.

Ollie started his career as a journalist, working as a news editor and reporter for a number of award-winning titles, and has an extensive contacts book built up across his time working in the media and politics. He graduated from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne with a BA (Hons) in social studies.
