PLMR TO OPEN SCOTLAND OFFICE

With the Scottish independence referendum a matter of days away, PLMR – a leading political lobbying and PR agency based in London – has announced it is moving forward with its long-held plans to launch PLMR Scotland.

PLMR, whose headquarters are in Westminster, will be opening the doors of its Edinburgh office on 13th October. The company was founded in 2006 and this will be its first satellite office.

PLMR – Britain’s leading public affairs agency and ranked as one of the top 100 PR agencies in the UK – is making the move to ensure it makes the most of the increased legislative powers the Scottish Government will receive, regardless of the referendum result.

PLMR Scotland will be led by Lynn McMath, currently Press Advisor for the Scottish Shadow Cabinet. Lynn has a wealth of experience working with and for the Scottish Parliament and managed the communications around the Edinburgh tram project.

Lynn’s understanding of the political system in Holyrood will further the interests of existing partners as well as bringing in new clients across PLMR’s key sectors.

As well as working for a number of third sector organisations, PLMR gives 5% of its annual net profit to charity. The agency recently held a football tournament at a Premier League stadium which raised £24,000 to help vulnerable amputee children in West Africa.

Kevin Craig, Managing Director of PLMR said:

“PLMR has worked across Scotland for years and it was a logical step to formalise this by launching PLMR Scotland. We are absolutely delighted – it shows just how far we have come since the company was founded in 2006.
“Whether it is ‘devo-max’ or full independence, the Scottish Government will be given a considerable amount more power after the referendum. In order to continue providing our clients with the best possible service, it is absolutely essential that we have a presence in Edinburgh.”

Lynn McMath, Senior Manager of PLMR Scotland said:

“I can’t wait to get started in October. PLMR is one of the most exciting and fastest growing agencies in the UK and I look forward to helping the company continue on that trajectory.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for Scottish politics and public affairs. PLMR Scotland will be here on the ground and ready to make the most of it.”
