Award-winning integrated communications agency, PLMR Group Ltd, has donated £1,000 to support The Beckmead Express in its efforts to provide vital resources to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine. 

Since PLMR was founded in 2006, we have donated five per cent of our net profits each year to philanthropic causes close to our hearts, both at home and abroad. We are honoured to champion the crucial work of organisations in their charitable endeavours.  

The Beckmead Express is a project organised and led by The Beckmead Trust, a high-performing academy trust which provides exceptional education for children and young people with complex needs across 10 schools in London, Essex and Sussex. 

Set up by Dr Jonty Clark OBE, the CEO and founder of The Beckmead Trust, The Beckmead Express has visited the Ukrainian border 10 times since the war began in February 2022, delivering more than £200,000 worth of aid in all so far. Trust minibuses and a team of Beckmead staff and volunteers have delivered relief including vital medicines, essential food and water, clothes and household items including toys, toiletries, sleeping bags and luggage.  

The funding supplied by PLMR and other donors will go towards providing generators and power packs to people in Ukraine. These resources are critical, especially during the cold winter months when temperatures can drop as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.  

Dr Jonty Clark OBE, Chief Executive Officer of The Beckmead Trust, said:  

“We are really grateful to have received so many generous donations, including from PLMR. We are passionate about providing support for those displaced and impacted by the war in Ukraine, but it is only thanks to donations that we can do this work. With the help of these donations, we are now planning our next trip to the Ukrainian border to deliver essential resources for the winter.”
