PLMR joins adult social care champion Care England as a supporter member

PLMR is delighted to announce it has joined Care England, the largest and most diverse representative body for independent providers of adult social care, as a supporter member for 2022.

PLMR and Care England have a long history of joint working in support of the social care sector, including teaming up to deliver a Government engagement programme in 2015/16 that went on to win the ‘’Best In-House and Agency Campaign” category at the 2016 Public Affairs Awards.

As part of its membership, PLMR will be the first supporter-member from the PR and Communications industry and will offer Care England members access to free Crisis Communications advice via a dedicated hotline (0800 640 8022) listed on the Care England website – building on PLMR’s existing reputation as the go-to communications expert in the social care sector. PLMR will also deliver a 45-minute training seminar at Care England’s annual members conference in March 2022.

Led by Professor Martin Green OBE, Care England provides expert analysis on the most pressing issues facing social care providers and seeks to create an environment where care providers can continue to deliver and develop the high-quality care that communities require and deserve. Throughout his tenure as CEO, and particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, Professor Green has shown true leadership in representing the needs of the sector to Government and the media, whilst championing new innovations and introducing new technology to the sector.

In recognition of the exciting opportunities presented by joining Care England, PLMR’s Head of Health and Social Care, Nathan Hollow said:

“After many years of friendship and joint working between PLMR and Care England, I am delighted to announce PLMR has become a supporter member to firmly and formally establish our relationship.

“Care England, and Martin in particular, has been an exemplary champion for the care sector for many years. We have long admired the work of the organisation, and as part of a huge investment programme in PLMR’s Social Care Practice, Team and capabilities, we felt 2022 was the right time to join as members.

“With the Government’s Social Care White Paper, the Health and Care Bill, and the desire to professionalise the workforce, 2022 will be a momentous year of change and reform for the social care sector. There will be huge challenges – some stemming from the long-tail impact of the Covid-19 pandemic – as well as countless opportunities to bring to fruition a care sector that delivers for those receiving care, working to provide care, and operating care businesses.

“PLMR is hugely excited at the opportunity to work more closely with Care England and our clients in the social care sector to capitalise on the opportunities that the Government’s reform programme brings, and this is the first of several new initiatives the PLMR Health and Social Care Practice will be participating in this year.”
