The team at Suffolk-based agency, Genesis PR have raised £1,000 for local Ipswich charity Families in Need (FIND).

Members from the Genesis team have taken part in the Orwell Walk, Run and Cycle in June, trekking 12-miles along the river Orwell. Director of Genesis, Penny Arbuthnot, recently completed the Great East Run and the ‘Robin Hood’ half marathon in Nottingham – all in aid of FIND. Genesis has more fundraising events lined up before 2018 comes to a close and they plan to end on a high!

2018 started with Genesis launching the FIND 50 campaign, to raise £100,000 to help fund a new home for the charity, which will be large enough to accommodate the growing need for the food bank and other services it provides.

Employers, schools, groups and individual donors, large and small, across Suffolk, have been committing to each raise or donate £2,000 for the FIND 50 £100,000 lifeline appeal and so far, over £34,000 has been raised.

Genesis PR’s director Penny Arbuthnot said: “We are doing everything we can to support FIND so they can continue their incredible work helping the most vulnerable families and individuals in Ipswich and other parts of Suffolk.

“We are aiming to raise £2,000, so we are already halfway there. We are also encouraging as many other employers, groups and individuals as possible to become a FIND 50 fundraiser.”

2019 will be a very exciting year for the charity, with further fundraising, the building work and the big move into the new home. The timetable will be fixed as soon as the lease agreement is finalised.

Maureen Reynel MBE, founder and Chair of FIND, says: “I’m hoping that more individual fundraisers, companies and schools will feel inspired to fundraise and support FIND’s services, so we can continue to fulfil the growing need for food and basic household living items where families and individuals have none.”

Genesis’ next fundraising activity will be a pub quiz at the Woolpack pub in Ipswich on Sunday 11th November. To book in a team get in touch with the pub itself on 01473 215862.
