PLMR has been selected as a finalist in the categories of Best In-House Consultancy Collaboration, Corporate Campaign of the Year and Social Media Campaign of the Year

PLMR is delighted to have been shortlisted for three awards at the prestigious Public Affairs Awards 2017 for our work with Gumtree UK, mental health charity The Shaw Mind Foundation and education awarding body CACHE.

• Corporate Campaign of the Year, PLMR & Gumtree UK – During the course of this year, PLMR has worked with Gumtree to develop and implement a public affairs campaign on ‘Improving trust and safety in online marketplaces’. We have supported Gumtree build the right relationships, and shift perception and understanding of Gumtree among political figures. Our success has included launching an industry-first report on Trust and Safety online to political decision-makers and being invited to join the government’s Joint Fraud Taskforce in recognition of Gumtree’s expertise in this area. We are pleased to also congratulate our client Fergus Campbell, who has been shortlisted for Best In-House Professional.

• Best In-House Consultancy Collaboration, PLMR & The Shaw Mind Foundation – PLMR’s work with mental health charity, The Shaw Mind Foundation, has seen us successfully raise the profile of the charity’s work in national media and online, and secure 103,554 signatures on the Government’s official petition website on the issue of mental health education in school. This has triggered a parliamentary debate in the House of Commons and shown decision makers that the campaign has strong public backing, a further reason to support the work of the charity and legislate on the issue.

• Social Media Campaign of the Year, PLMR & CACHE – Working for the awarding body CACHE, PLMR’s Save Our Early Years campaign led to the Department for Education reversing its qualifications policy for staff in early years settings. Our campaign strategy saw us form a cross-sector coalition to back the campaign, with grass-roots supporters including parents and nurseries mobilised through a mixture of traditional PR, a central website and engaging social media to bring the issue to the top of the agenda before directly lobbying Department for Education senior officials and Ministers. The campaign led to the Government U-turning – and early years settings again being able to recruit great staff.
