A room in England’s oldest hospice has been named in memory of Phyllis Craig, mother of PLMR’s founder, Kevin Craig.

PLMR Managing Director,  Kevin Craig, says he is ‘incredibly moved’ by the naming of a room at the London hospice in memory of his mother.

Phyllis Craig died in Trinity Hospice on 6th September 2012, aged 69, after a brave fight against ovarian cancer. After her passing, her family raised over £20,000, with the help of PLMR, in support of the work of Trinity Hospice. Funds raised for Trinity Hospice by Phyllis’ family came from events including the London Marathon, London Triathlon and a variety of other fundraising events supported by PLMR.

Kevin said: “This room naming is a lasting tribute to my mum Phyllis Craig and the hundreds of thousands of people like her that came to Britain in the 50’s and 60’s and made lives here in this great country.  I also hope that it will also mark the crucial work of the hospice movement. I am grateful to the NHS for all that they did, and I will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff of Trinity Hospice.
I’m also grateful for all the support that the PLMR team have provided in helping to raise the funds –including colleagues who have themselves lost family & friends.”

Trinity Hospice is the UK’s oldest hospice, founded in 1891. It provides specialist palliative care to a community of over 750,000 people in central and south-west London. Trinity Hospice only receives a third of its income from the NHS. Its patient and relative services are free of charge, and rely on donations.
