Roger joined PLMR Healthcomms as an Account Director in February 2022. He is currently a Director, and Head of our HealthTech and Digital Health Practice, supporting clients across the sector in strategic engagement, policy and political advice and advocacy, as well as wider campaigns. Clients range from global and multi-national corporates, SMEs and start-ups, as well as a range of our groups and coalitions.
He is the PLMR Group Head of Northern Ireland, supporting clients with engagement within NI, and advising NI-based clients on public affairs, strategic engagement and campaigns in country and within the UK.
Roger was seconded part time to the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) in 2024-25, as Director of Government Affairs. There he supported the organisation and its members with engagement across Parliament and Government, including working with the Office for Life Sciences on the development of the Life Sciences Sector Plan.
Prior to PLMR Healthcomms, Roger spent 3 years at NHS Digital where he worked in Strategic Engagement, Public Affairs and International Relations. There he developed and maintained the organisation’s relationships with key stakeholders at home and abroad, including the development of bi-lateral and multi-lateral agreements (particularly with Nordics), and supported the Chair, CEO and Board with domestic crisis and engagement priorities, including within Parliament.
Roger graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Dundee in 2012, following which he worked at the Northern Ireland Assembly. He has also held roles in policy and events, specialising in policy relating to the devolved administrations, healthcare and economic development. He has a CIPR Specialist Diploma in Public Affairs.
Roger has written and podcasted on Northern Ireland politics and policy for Northern Slant and within his current role at PLMR. He provides regular thought leadership on the NHS, healthtech and digital health policy, and the Conservative Party, as well as regularly appearing on and chairing external panels and events; and despite being well past his best, he continues to play football.
