Rebecca has more than a decade of experience in local government in both advisory and elected roles. Rebecca spent four years on the Cabinet of Nottingham City Council, most recently leading the Skills, Growth and Economic Development brief. She previously held the Communities portfolio, with a focus on community development and place making. She specialises in the built environment, with significant experience in consultation and engagement, strategic communications and public affairs.
Rebecca has held a number of communications roles, from national comms agencies and charities to regional agencies and local authorities. She is particularly interested in ensuring that communications and engagement activities are inclusive of a broad range of stakeholders.
Rebecca has a Masters in Public Administration with a focus on regional devolution. She has advised councils on devolution arrangements, supported local authorities with preparing for local government reorganisation and helped clients understand what devolution means for them.
Rebecca has worked with a range of clients from local authorities to energy companies and major retailers to housebuilders. Her portfolio includes nationally significant infrastructure projects, city centre regeneration schemes and major housing developments.
Rebecca started her career in political advisory roles, first in the European Parliament and subsequently in local government. Rebecca is a graduate of the LGA’s ‘Next Generation Leaders’ programme, with extensive experience and networks across local government.
Rebecca is a board member of maternity discrimination charity Pregnant then Screwed, co-founder of Nottingham Working Mums Network, occasional runner and mum to two young girls.
