The Zero Pressure Podcast

How PLMR launched a podcast with Britain’s first astronaut.

Client

Saab / Imperial College London

The Situation

Imperial College and Saab were looking to collaborate and create an informative technology-focused podcast to reach new communities, prominently in English-speaking countries across Europe, Australia, and North America.

What we did

As well as advising on each episode’s content and the structure of the podcast, PLMR’s team produced and recorded each podcast in the series. This work included coordinated interviews with guests around the world, ensuring studio-level remote recordings during lockdown, creating the final edit of the episode, creating a social media strategy, promotional materials and distributing the podcast across over 15 separate channels.

The Result

PLMR’s creativity and technical knowledge has facilitated a unique tech-focused podcast series, which has now run for three seasons covering AI, sustainability, microchip wars and much more. Our episodes feature special guests at the top of their fields, including first Swedish Astronaut Christer Fuglesang, Paul Scharre (named on Time100 AI list 2023), head of the Centre for Robotics Research at King’s College London, Professor Yang Gao, previous CEO of Aston Martin and COO of Nissan, Dr Andy Palmer and Professor of Marine Geophysics at Imperial College London, Jenny Collier.

For two years running we have also supported the podcast with live recordings at the Great Exhibition Road Festival. The events have been a great success, with our 2024 recording at the Victoria and Albert museum selling out entirely and engaging a wide audience.
