The Situation

Grant Thornton is one of the UK’s top accountancy firms which offers expert financial and business advisory services. PLMR Genesis supported 7 regional offices across the East of England. 

To increase Grant Thornton’s brand awareness and drive new enquiries from local businesses, the team delivered a media relations campaign focused on the firm’s annual ‘Limited’ reports. These provide a detailed analysis of the economic performance of the top 100 businesses in each county in the region (Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire). 

What we did

Following a detailed analysis of the findings, press releases on the reports were issued to the media across each associated county covering print, online and broadcast. Exclusives were agreed with select publications which included early access to the reports and interview opportunities with the report authors. 

We also collaborated with the businesses named in the reports to develop engaging case studies and developed both infographics and video content to visually showcase the key economic performance figures. 

 

The Result

Grant Thornton’s reports achieved substantial coverage across each county, demonstrating the firm’s insight and expertise into the local market. By comparing to the results from the previous years, the reports became a benchmark of economic growth and performance. 

We achieved 100% coverage in target media for the ‘Limited’ events we supported. Print media reach hit 1.93 million, BBC Radio interviews were secured for six events, including TV coverage on BBC Look East for two events. 

As a result of the increased profile, event attendance increased 9% in the following year, delivering new client leads and estimated sales resulting in a marketing ROI of 19:1.
