The Situation

The Coventry City of Culture Trust was formed to promote the city’s bid to win the coveted position of “UK City of Culture 2021”. The team enlisted Advent (now part of the PLMR Group) to assist on everything from announcing the city’s plans to bid, through to handling the media on the historic night in Hull in 2017.

What we did

Advent generated regional press coverage galvanising support, helping to establish social media channels and placing national features to showcase the city including BBC Breakfast, The Guardian, The Observer and the Big Issue.

The Result

Following the successful bid, Advent has continued its work with the Coventry City of Culture Trust working on its media profile, including build-up activity, major announcements and its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
