The proposed development site had difficult access and a chequered planning history. Previous applications for residential developments had been refused. So when Care UK wanted to build a care home on this site PLMR designed an extensive consultation strategy to influence local opinion and create support for the scheme.
Working closely with Care UK, PLMR ensured its communications catered to the specifics of the site and Banbury’s Conservation Area. To encourage public backing PLMR also maintained an open dialogue with the local community, businesses and politicians throughout the application process.
PLMR carried out comprehensive consultation with local residents, businesses, and politicians, both gauging their opinions and responding to any queries. By effectively communicating the benefits of the scheme, public support from local stakeholders was established.
Councillors voted to grant permission for the proposal, following a Ward Member advising that all of his previous concerns had been addressed, ensuring that PLMR’s 100% track-record of success with Care UK continues.
