CASE STUDY
PLMR worked with renewable investment specialist Bluefield to deliver a public affairs campaign to promote solar energy and renewables in the UK. Faced with a challenging investment environment, and shifting political leadership, Bluefield was concerned that rumoured hostile policies would not only harm investment but prevent the UK reaching its energy targets.
We developed clear messaging and a set of recommendations to accelerate the deployment and investment in UK solar and renewables.
We built relationships for the client at the highest levels of government and opposition parties, to educate them on the challenges facing the market, including around planning and grid constraints.
As well as securing front bench engagement opportunities, PLMR secured the opportunity for Bluefield to give oral evidence to the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee’s inquiry, ‘Keeping the power on: our future energy technology mix’.
Through briefings, meetings, site visits, and responses to formal consultations, we promoted the value of solar and policies that could accelerate its growth.
We also leveraged the media and our energy PR expertise to build the case around the potential risks of rumoured tax and planning policy to the overall investment environment around solar.
PLMR’s crisis communications experience is second to none, and includes pre-emptive and reactive work across traditional and social media channels. We work with a range of organisations to offer critical communication support when they are faced with difficult and challenging scenarios.
