The Situation

Beths Grammar School is a long-standing selective school located in Bexley, Kent. To maintain its position as one of the preferred schools in the area and support pupil recruitment, especially during the challenges of the pandemic, they were looking for a refresh of their branding and pupil recruitment materials.

What we did

PLMR first supported the school to undertake a communications audit which provided a comprehensive review of its existing materials and approach to communications, as well as recommendations going forward. We also created key messaging to hone-in on the “unique selling points” which positively differentiated the School from others.

Using this messaging, PLMR then supported Beths with renewing its brand guidelines and created two new promotional prospectuses for its secondary school and sixth form. PLMR spoke with senior leaders to gain deeper insight into the school community and then drafted the copy for both prospectuses, highlighting messaging that showcased the school to prospective students and parents and attracted them to the School. PLMR also created a design and advised on the use of imagery to help depict the School’s values and ethos effectively.

The prospectuses were supported by the PLMR creative team producing two new videos to promote the school, again for its secondary school and sixth form, with interviews with teachers, senior leaders and students. This provided the school with engaging content which was leveraged at the upcoming open days, and future-proofed so it can continue to be used for the foreseeable.

The Result

There was an overwhelmingly positive response to the new prospectuses and videos. These supported Beths with bringing the School to life for prospective families during the pandemic and continue to prove useful resources for pupil recruitment today.
