The Situation

Arden Estate Partnerships (AEP) is a leading public-private partnership between the Department for Health and GB Partnerships, operating across Coventry and Warwickshire. The business delivers a range of healthcare facilities including primary care centres, GP surgeries and hospitals. AEP approached Snapdragon to help promote their business within Nuneaton.

As part of the planned regeneration of Nuneaton Town Centre (known as the Transforming Nuneaton programme), Arden Estate Partnerships wanted to deliver a health and community hub. The company believed this could act as a catalyst for wider regeneration in the town. To achieve this, AEP needed buy-in from both the public and private sector and to be positioned as the partner of choice to deliver healthcare facilities.

What we did

Snapdragon proposed organising and hosting a breakfast seminar designed to bring together the key players across the public and private sector in Nuneaton and promote AEP. This included Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council, North Warwickshire CCG, GPs and developers.

Around the event we arranged a series of targeted meetings with key stakeholders to discuss the issues and opportunities. This included Marcus Jones MP, Coventry & Warwickshire LEP, politicians and planning officers within Nuneaton and private sector developers.

The event brought together around 50 key people with a key note speech from Marcus Jones, the former Minister for Social Care and for Town Centres. The format was a seminar-style discussion with a presentation from Transforming Nuneaton and a panel discussion focusing on the role of public-private partnerships.

Following the event, key discussions were followed up by the team allowing Arden Estate Partnerships to position themselves within the Nuneaton professional community.

The Result

Shortly after the event the team arranged a follow-up meeting with North Warwickshire CCG. Arden Estate Partnerships were subsequently asked to prepare a feasibility study for a health and community hub in Nuneaton Town Centre, bringing together local GPs, the Council and the Transforming Nuneaton programme.
