The Situation

PLMR Advent was engaged by the Albany Theatre in Coventry to raise its profile as a leading arts venue and community space in the wake of major redevelopment.

The theatre faced permanent closure a decade ago, so public engagement and visibility would be vital in ensuring its future.

What we did

We worked with the theatre to secure coverage in regional and trade media announcing the first phase of £3 million works, with follow-up stories on the launch of its youth theatre initiative and seasonal events.

The project also included videography to promote its Christmas productions in 2022 and 2023, capturing interviews with the cast, trustees and special guests to create promotional videos and social media clips.

The Result

The activity, while supporting show sales, increased the venue’s visibility to the public in line with its brand strategy.

News of the ongoing development works underpinned much of the PR, creating an effective show of intent to produce and host high quality arts and entertainment, while showcasing its ambition to expand its community, volunteer and educational networks.
