The Situation

Active Essex is one of 43 Active Partnerships across England, working with community partners including schools, clubs, workplaces and ambassadors to increase participation in sport and physical activity across Greater Essex.

PLMR Genesis was tasked with supporting Active Essex launch and deliver its strategy of changing 1 million lives by getting Essex active. One in four people in Essex are inactive, meaning they do less than 30 minutes of physical activity per week.

What we did

The PR strategy maximises use of inspiring stories from around Essex and creates impactful press and broadcast media for Active Essex events and campaigns, capitalising on national as well as local news to promote the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.

The Result

Communications has played a crucial role in delivering Active Essex’s ambition of changing 1 million lives by getting Essex active, promoting events, engaging with target audiences on social media and raising the profile of Active Essex.
