After a year of record-breaking revenue, PLMR Group Ltd has broken into the top 50 of UK communications firms in the prestigious PR Week rankings published today.
With 100 colleagues working out of offices in the Midlands, East of England and Scotland, in addition to its headquarters in London, today is a moment of real celebration for PLMR and achieves a long-held objective set when the business was founded in 2006. Today’s PR Week table ranks PLMR Group at 49th in the UK.
The agency’s continuing strong revenues have been built on excellent client delivery across core services (including public affairs, PR, reputation management and digital) and in sectors including health and social care, education, energy and sustainability, transport, life sciences, built environment and technology. In 2022 PLMR Group completed its fifth acquisition, of Healthcomms Consulting, deepening further its already strong health and social care specialism. PLMR’s client roster has continued to develop over the year, and includes airline Jet2, pharmaceutical company Moderna, Russell Group universities Warwick and Sheffield, and baby and toddler food company Ella’s Kitchen.
Kevin Craig, the Group Chief Executive Officer who founded PLMR 17 years ago, said this morning:
“I want to thank every one of my colleagues today and every single person who has worked here in the past. I want to thank every single client across the UK who today gives PLMR business. I want to thank those entrepreneurs who trusted us enough to allow us to acquire their incredible businesses. And I want to thank every single person who has trusted us and who has shown kindness on the way to here.
“2023 is an enormously important year for the company as we navigate our way through hugely challenging economic headwinds, an extremely competitive marketplace, lightning speed technological change, and ongoing political flux. PLMR has restructured how we are organised with a new Management Group and a new Board. We have updated our purpose. We are reviewing our strategy for the way ahead. And we are examining from first principles everything we do. Crucially, we are working hard to maximise the huge array of opportunities that come from the integration of the six original companies that now make up the Group.
“Since the first year of PLMR, one of our key objectives has been to break into the Top 50 of comms firms in the UK. It seemed at times an incredible far-off dream. We’ve now done it. To work with 100 brilliant people across the UK, with our wonderful clients, to be giving 5% of profits to charity as we have done since our inception – it really is the most wonderful feeling. Rankings in the PR Week Top 150 table are an independent measure of excellence, of business acumen, of high quality, and of real passion. Today is a great moment.”
PLMR Group Ltd recorded overall UK revenue of £9.12 million last calendar year (2022) – its strongest performance to date and up 33% on 2021’s figures.
