Genesis hits milestone after expanding digital team to meet growing demand

Ipswich-based PR and marketing agency, Genesis, has hit a key company milestone after expanding its digital team by appointing Senior Digital Account Executive Alex Head. Alex has joined from Zoological Society of East Anglia, a conservation charity which manages two of the region’s biggest zoos – Banham Zoo and Africa Alive. In his role as E-commerce & Digital Officer, his responsibilities included SEO, email marketing, paid marketing, website development and digital design services. Alex had previously completed a two-year Marketing and Design apprenticeship at South Norfolk Council and has recently completed a Level 6 CIM Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing at the Cambridge Marketing College. Alex said: “I’m very excited to have joined the Genesis team and I look forward to using and developing my skills and knowledge to provide a range of high-quality digital services. I haven’t been here long but I’ve already seen the huge appetite for digital services among our new and long-established clients who don’t want to get left behind. The pandemic has accelerated the switch to integrated digital PR campaigns and there’s so much to tap into.” The appointment means Genesis has become a 20-strong team of PR and digital marketing professionals, with expertise across the team in areas including media relations, reputation management, digital advertising, social media, websites, Search Engine Optimisation and brand design. Director Penny Arbuthnot said: “Alex is a brilliant addition to the team and brings with him a wealth of expertise spanning the broad spectrum of digital services. Staying ahead of the game by investing in the latest PR and marketing methods and technology has been a key part of our culture over the past 17 years – and will continue to guide our success.” Using its registered ‘i-thinking’ concept, Genesis works with clients who are leaders and influencers in their fields and has a particular focus on health and social care, training and education, manufacturing and construction, professional services and charities. The team has adopted a new hybrid approach to employment with many of the team choosing to be home-based and a smaller number working from its office.
