Genesis celebrates impressive agency rankings in a tough climate

Ipswich-based Genesis has held onto its coveted place in PR Week’s Top 50 Agencies Outside London. We are one of only two agencies in the East of England on the list (at number 40) with no other agencies from Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk or Cambridgeshire featured.

The publication – a leader in the PR and communications industry – also listed us as number 17 on its list of Top Public Sector agencies nationally and as number 27 in the ‘Bubbling Under’ rankings of ‘notable agency success stories’ who are just outside the UK’s Top 150 agencies.

Rankings are allocated based on fee income – testament to another strong year for the growing agency. Genesis helps regional and national businesses, charities and public sector organisations to thrive by designing and delivering PR and digital marketing communications.

The agency employs a team of 20 PR and digital marketing professionals with expertise across the team in areas including media relations, reputation management, digital advertising, social media, websites, Search Engine Optimisation and brand design. It has adopted a new hybrid approach to employment with many of the team choosing to be home-based and a smaller number working from its office.

Penny Arbuthnot, Director at Genesis PR, said: “I’m so proud of the whole team. It really has been the kind of year where everyone has gone the extra mile in challenging circumstances. We’ve achieved so much and it’s exciting to be growing the business with four new hires already this year.

“After the shock of Covid-19 on the economy we brought some really creative and effective ideas to our clients, several of whom were eager to adopt a digital-first approach. The team pulled together in so many ways, including giving our time and expertise to help charities and by giving careers talks and virtual work experience placements to students.”

We work with clients which are leaders and influencers in a variety of sectors including health, public and charity sectors, business and professional services, manufacturing and logistics, education and trade bodies.

Pro bono work by the Genesis team during 2020 included the creation of the ‘Here Together’ fundraising campaign for St Elizabeth Hospice including free digital advertising management.
