The Situation

PLMR has worked with Tulipshare to raise their profile as a start-up working to bring activist investment to retail investors.

Launched in 2021, they were seeking to quickly raise the profile of their work ahead of AGM season and educate ordinary investors on the role they could play in bringing about ESG change at some of the world’s largest companies.

Tulipshare’s target audience was broad, and included the technology press (targeting investors), investment press (targeting potential supporters of their campaigns) and the consumer press (potential users).

What we did

We worked closely with Tulipshare to develop a proactive PR engagement plan that raised the profile of their key messages over one year. We developed individual PR strategies for each target audience, and focused on developing news and thought-leadership that journalists would be most interested in.

Our activity included press releases, reactive commentary, case studies, journalist briefings, thought-leadership, and polling to improve consumers, investors, and journalists’ understanding of Tulipshare’s work and campaigns.

We also supported Tulipshare in developing new partnerships to access new audiences and grow its share of voice in the activist investment space, such as launching a joint campaign with Make My Money Matter.

The Result

Over the course of one year, PLMR has secured 313 pieces of coverage for Tulipshare, including 59 pieces in top-tier media targets, profiling its individual campaigns and key messages to successfully shift the dial on activist retail investing.

The coverage achieved has grown the reputation of the company as a leader in activist investing, giving Tulipshare credibility when engaging with companies’ investor relations teams, as well as shareholders, to help their campaigns succeed.
