The Situation

Following the publication of the Women’s Health Strategy in 2022, the APPG on Women’s Health coordinated a collaborative response to the Strategy between All-Party Parliamentary Groups with an interest in Womens’ Health to hold the Government to account on the implementation of the Strategy.

What we did

Through its secretariat support of the APPG on Women’s Health, PLMR Healthcomms delivered a roundtable which brought together representatives from a wide range of APPGs to discuss how collaborative working can hold the Government to account to deliver on the recommendations set out in the Women’s Health Strategy. The event provided a platform for the Government to provide an update on their progress to implement the recommendations in the Strategy and answer questions from APPGs in attendance.

The Result

The APPG has continued to build pressure on the Government to implement the recommendations in the Women’s Health Strategy. Following the event, the Government reported back to parliamentarians on their success to implement the Strategy, and the next steps to build on this momentum. The APPG has met with the Minister for the Women’s Health Strategy to hear an update on current activity and feed into the second year priorities for the Strategy.
