Advent swings into action to support charity golf day

Advent Communications swung into action to support The Wigley Group at its charity golf day.

The Wigley Group Golf Open and Gala Dinner was held at Staverton Park De Vere in Daventry in aid of Support Our Paras, the official Parachute Regiment charity which supports the welfare of injured soldiers and their families.

Advent spent the morning at the golf course interacting with guests and helping to make sure The Wigley Group’s social media was up to par. This included tweeting live commentary and photos of the teams teeing off for the tournament.

Advent then joined over 150 guests at the gala dinner which featured a special address from multi world boxing champion Ricky Hatton MBE.

Other VIPs included snooker world champion Stuart Bingham, sports promotor Barry Hearn, boxing star Micky Cantwell and Jake Wood, also known as Max Branning from EastEnders.

John McDonald, former Paratrooper and TV sports announcer, hosted the event and guests also heard from injured members of the Parachute Regiment who shared their stories about how the Support Our Paras charity had helped them.

Inpress Images captured all of the action at the event with photos available at The Wigley Group’s Facebook page.

Event sponsors included Coventry equipment hire firm Clements Equipment Hire, Benross Golf and Core Physiatry which is based in Warwick.
