Two PR and Digital graduates have joined PLMR Genesis, the East of England team for national communications agency PLMR, as a mark of continued growth and investment in the region.

Phoebe Trueman joins the agency as a PR Graduate whilst Lily Morey takes on the role of PR and Digital Graduate. The news follows the recent promotion of Chloe Shelcott to Senior Account Director after 12 years at the company, and the appointment of marketing professional and former TV producer Deborah Burley as Account Director.

Phoebe Trueman, who lives in Stowmarket, recently graduated from the University of Winchester with a degree in Creative Writing with a focus on storytelling. She also has a background in social media, tailoring content to different platforms such as YouTube and TikTok.

Commenting on her appointment, Phoebe said: “I am very excited to be joining the PLMR Genesis team. It’s an incredible opportunity as a graduate to learn in such a collaborative and growing agency. I’m looking forward to working with the team and applying my skills to the fantastic clients they work with.”

Lily Morey, who lives in Suffolk, graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in Journalism, Media and Culture. Alongside her degree she gained hands on experience through an internship at ITV Anglia. Lily also completed a social media and marketing placement at a mindfulness charity, producing social media content for a variety of audiences.

Lily said: “It is an amazing opportunity to join PLMR Genesis to start my post graduate career, particularly as the agency is so forward looking and constantly staying ahead of the curve as we see how much the media and digital landscape is changing. I’ve already learned so much and I’m looking forward to meeting more colleagues across the group over the coming weeks.”

Phoebe and Lily, based in the agency’s leading Ipswich office, will be completing a bespoke graduate training programme whilst learning from PLMR’s team of PR, digital and public affairs specialists. The addition of two graduates aligns with PLMR’s growth and development as a company working regionally, nationally and internationally.

Tim Miller, who leads the PLMR Genesis team in the East of England, commented: “We were overwhelmed with brilliant candidates for our two graduate roles, but Phoebe and Lily really stood out with their enthusiasm and the creative ideas they brought to the team.

“PLMR has a proud history of investing in graduates and building fantastic careers, with many now working at the most senior level in the company. We’re seeing significant change across the media, digital platforms and public affairs. That’s why we’re always looking for people with energy and a fresh perspective, so we can continue to innovate and ensure every single one of our clients has access to the industry leading skills they need to grow their business.

“We have a strong team here in the East which has been delivering communication campaigns in the region for over 20 years. We have a unique offer of being able to combine our local insight and knowledge with national reach and expertise through PLMR. The appointment of Phoebe and Lily is a mark of our long term commitment to the region and I look forward to working with them both.”

The PLMR Genesis team, together with PLMR’s offices in London and the Midlands, delivers a full suite of communications services including public relations, public affairs, digital and design, crisis management, stakeholder engagement and media training.

The agency works with local, national and global organisations across the energy, education, professional services, technology, health and social care, and third sectors.
