Board Director - Head of Health and Social Care - Head of South West

PLMR’s specialist Health and Social Care Practice is delighted to be named “Consultants of the Year – PR” at the HealthInvestor Awards 2025, which follows being shortlisted for the seventh time in a row and previously winning in 2020.

The award reflects another strong year for the Practice and wider company, including being ranked 17th in PR Week’s Top 25 Healthcare table, up from 21st place in 2024.

In addition to this, 2024 saw the team elevate their pro-bono efforts to support the sector to thrive despite the difficult political and economic climate. This includes PLMR’s Head of Health and Social Care, Nathan Hollow, being appointed a Trustee of the Care Workers’ Charity; PLMR supporting a coalition of specialist care CEOs to write to the Government about the impact of increasing eNIC costs on the sector as a pro-bono project; co-hosting a panel at Labour party conference with the Social Care Institute for Excellence; and supporting the #ProvidersUnite demonstration in Westminster. The Practice team also launched a weekly political analysis newsletter, ‘On The Pulse’, which reaches 1,300 subscribers including several MPs, Lords, and officials at three Government Departments, and launched a new podcast.

Alongside strong pro-bono support for the sector, the Practice Team also had a standout year in the support provided to clients, with continued work with flagship clients Skills for Care, Bluebird Care, and Exemplar Healthcare, whilst winning new clients, including Helping Hands, Livi, and Duchenne UK, amongst others. The Group also delivered major campaign wins for an NHS Trust, Essex County Council’s social care recruitment campaign, and provided significant pro-bono support to organise the 19thannual Social Worker Awards, the only major awards ceremony for social workers in England.

Nathan Hollow, Group Director and Head of Health & Social Care said:

“As a keen reader of HealthInvestor and annual awards attendee, I’m incredibly proud that we have won for the second time at this highly respected ceremony. It is a fantastic reflection of the work PLMR Group delivers day-in-day-out for clients and the passion the whole team has for the sector.

“This year, we’ve strongly focused on giving back to the sector – whether that’s through pro-bono work for several care charities, using our political network to secure speaking opportunities for sector bodies, placing social care at the heart of the Labour Party conference, or using our journalist contact book to improve how social care is represented in the media.

“One of our greatest strengths is our knowledge and dedication to the health and care sectors, and we are all exceptionally proud to be recognised for it. Once again, we are hugely grateful for the judges’ recognition of our ethos of always adding value and delivering impact for clients and the wider care community, and we hope to continue to make our mark in 2025 and beyond.”
