PLMR Board Director, Sara Ghaffari, has been recognised as one of the UK’s top corporate communications consultants at PR Week’s inaugural People & Places Awards 2025.
Sara was named the winner in the Under 10 Years’ Experience – Corporate Consultancy category at the PRWeek UK People & Places Awards in London. The award honours exceptional professionals in communications with under a decade of experience in the sector, celebrating their talent, excellence, leadership, and the significant contributions they have made to the industry.
Sara’s impressive communications career at started at PLMR as a junior consultant, where she rose to join PLMR’s Board in under 10 years. Now leading the firm’s PR and Corporate Communications team, she has been praised for her strategic impact, leadership in driving growth, and her commitment to inclusion.
Her achievements include helping digital marketplace Gumtree become a trusted voice on UK online harms policy, leading high-impact campaigns such as the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Appeal – which resulted in the unveiling of the UK’s first statue of a named Black woman – and founding PLMR’s first diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) working group.
Between 2022 – 2024, Sara was the elected Chair of the Global Communications Alliance, a network of like-minded independent agencies around the world. In this role, she worked to improve information and business sharing between our partner communications agencies across the world and delivered a major global conference, bringing together leaders from across the industry.
The judges at the PRWeek UK People & Places Awards praised Sara’s “impact at every level – through her work, her commitment to DEI and to her clients,” highlighting her ability to navigate complex policy areas while also delivering sustainable, values-driven growth.
