No escaping Eurovision in Liverpool

There is no escaping Eurovision fever in Liverpool – and one keen fan of the contest has even offered £1,000 to put themselves behind bars for the night to stay in the city.

The song contest finale is taking place on May 13 and hotel and hostel beds have been snapped up by tourists from across the UK and the rest of Europe, often paying well over the odds for accommodation.

A surge in demand led to award-winning escape experience venue Escape Live, based in Liverpool One, to post a cheeky listing on Airbnb offering the chance to book its Prison Break room for the night – and someone tried to snap it up!

PLMR Advent placed the story in the Liverpool Echo, which built on the additional profile raised for the venue on the back of the announcement that it is home to the first official Horrible Histories escape room in the world.
