New chapter for historic Charterhouse

Heritage at Risk 2022. The Charterhouse, London Road, Coventry, West Midlands. General view from the south-east.

Coventry will welcome the region’s newest tourist attraction this weekend after an 11-year fundraising campaign.

Historic Coventry Trust is officially opening the stunning Grade I listed Charterhouse off London Road to the general public on Saturday following a £10 million restoration programme.

The building features three conserved wall paintings of national importance, a revitalised garden and a new café/bar run by Michelin-star chef Glynn Purnell called Purnell’s at Charterhouse.

PLMR Advent has secured a wide range of coverage in national newspapers, regional television and radio, trade and local publications for the grand opening.
