PLMR Genesis responds to ever growing demand for PR and Communications services with four new appointments

In response to continued growth of the company and demand for its core services, PLMR Genesis appoints four new team members to its PR and Communications team; Karen Byrnand as Account Director, Bernadette Mooney as Senior Account Manager, Laura Mitchell and Alex Mace as Account Executives.

Bernadette Mooney comes to the company from the University of Suffolk where she spent nearly eight years as their Communications Manager. With a background in broadcast journalism, Bernadette enjoys speaking to people from all walks of life and sharing their stories to reach an organisation’s objectives and goals to create impact. Bernadette has been an Accredited PR Practitioner with the CIPR for the past 12 years and brings to PLMR Genesis, a wealth of experience across change communications, crisis communications, media training and event management. She has been the strategic communications and engagement lead for numerous projects working with multiple stakeholders including Public Health England on the pilot programme to roll-out of asymptomatic testing at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Karen Byrnand joins PLMR Genesis as an Account Director. Her expertise covers an array of skills with a proven track record across 20 years in developing B2B and B2C integrated marketing and communications strategies and commercial campaigns across a number of sectors, from Telecoms, Education, Retail, Public Sector and Professional Services. Karen has great aptitude in building and maintaining client relationships, possesses excellent planning and leadership abilities. Karen is a Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Member of Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and a Member of CIPR. 

Laura Mitchell comes to PLMR Genesis on our Graduate training programme after recently completing her English Literature and Creative Writing degree at University of Suffolk. With previous experience from a customer service background and participating in a marketing and communications internship for a body-positive lingerie brand, Laura has some excellent knowledge of finding out exactly what it is that her target audience wants and needs. Her keen interest in writing engaging content and her natural flair for social media means that she hopes to be a brilliant addition to her client teams. 

Alex Mace joins the PLMR Genesis team from a music PR background having fulfilled exciting campaigns for the latest and greatest acts and artists – securing meaningful coverage on regional and national scales for names like Limahl from Kajagoogoo. He has also delved into other sectors including brands, charities and authors. With a keen eye for newsworthy hooks, his passion lies in finding and developing stories the media will care about to make a real difference to clients. With his future at PLMR Genesis ahead, Alex is excited to excel his PR experience and continue to hone his established skills alongside the team.
