New member joins Advent PLMR

Advent Communications has started 2022 by adding further depth to its team with a new appointment.

Advent has hired former Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board press officer Josh Borthwick as an account manager.

Josh has previously worked both in-house and in an agency, during which time he has developed experience across a range of sectors, particularly property.

His appointment follows a landmark 2021 for the company after it was purchased by the Westminster-based PLMR Group and a series of new client wins to kick off 2022.

Director Lee Corden said: “We are very pleased to bring Josh to Advent as we look to build on a very exciting year for the business.

“Josh actually spent time with us on work experience when he was looking to forge a career in the media and it has been a stepping stone for him into the industry.

“It’s great to have him back on board as we look forward to another year of growth after making a strong start to the year.”

Josh, who graduated in History at the University of Leicester, has previously been part of the communications team at Oral Health Foundation.

He said: “I’m delighted to be back at Advent, which is where my PR journey first began. I feel like my career has already come full circle and I’m keen to hit the ground running and make a positive impact.

“This is the perfect platform for me to progress as a professional and I’m grateful to both Advent and PLMR for the opportunity.”
