Genesis responds to unprecedented growth with new appointment

As PLMR Genesis continues to expand to meet continued client growth, Michelle Emmerson-Grey has joined the company as a Senior Account Manager.

Michelle has substantial business to consumer and stakeholder management experience in the arts and culture sector, extensive event and promotional expertise and a wealth of communications experience, gained from a varied background across internal communications in the telecoms industry and senior leadership marketing roles in arts and education.

As an active advocate of digital transformation in arts marketing, Michelle balanced the varying demands of promoting a wide programme of festivals and visiting company work, alongside creation of original promotional materials for in-house theatre productions and nationwide theatrical tours, such as Once the Musical (New Wolsey Theatre).

Michelle’s most recent role saw her relaunching the Mercury Theatre in Colchester following an £11.3m extensive refurbishment; publicising the re-opening season, launching a new timetable of weekly community classes, and expanding the commercial offer of the hospitality, workspace, conference and events elements of the venue.

Michelle is passionate about the provision of accessible PR and marketing materials across all sectors and the benefits that small changes in widening accessibility can bring to every business. As Head of Communications for leading theatre consortium Ramps on the Moon, Michelle gained vast experience in raising awareness and attitudes to access for D/deaf and disabled artists, creatives and audiences.

Michelle said: “I’m delighted to join PLMR Genesis. I have known the company by reputation in wider business circles for a long time and worked alongside many companies who are huge advocates of the impact that PLMR Genesis has made.

“It’s an exciting time to join this growing, friendly and dynamic team and I am looking forward to working with a broad range of clients.”

Simon Darby, Director, East of England at PLMR, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Michelle to the Genesis team. Michelle’s skills combine traditional communications and marketing expertise with digital capability, complementing our PR and digital offering and bringing strategic cohesion to planning for our clients.”

PLMR Genesis provides results-focused communications solutions for clients in today’s digital world, including building and managing brand reputation and driving business or organisational goals through an integrated, multi-channel approach to PR and marketing. It works with clients who are leaders and influencers across a variety of business, industry, public and charity sectors.
