English rugby legend talks teamwork at staff day

Rugby World Cup winner Phil Vickery delivered an inspiring talk to hundreds of staff from the Romero Catholic Academy about his upbringing, the people who inspired him and the importance of teamwork.

Advent was on hand to capture the special guest appearance, which included a lively Q&A session and stories from Phil’s school days.

He said: “I often get asked if we could have won the World Cup without Jonny Wilkinson and I always say ‘I don’t know’ but I do know that he couldn’t have won it without us, and that is the message that I wanted to impart today – having a great headteacher alone doesn’t make a great school, it takes everyone.”
