Advent achieved major national coverage in The Guardian showcasing a “medieval” recruitment event in Stratford next month as part of the town’s annual Mop Fair.
The Mop Fair, which dates back to the 14th century, was used by landowners around Warwickshire to meet prospective workers after the Black Death decimated the population.
Now, the first ever ‘Job and Apprenticeship Fair’, organised by Stratford District Council, will be held at the Stratford Playhouse in Rother Street on Tuesday, October 12 to attract workers to fill employment shortages in the region, with businesses from all sectors invited to attend.
Around 50 business responded to the call after Advent gained widespread coverage in regional news outlets in addition to The Guardian.
