Genesis Acquired to Create Leading Regional Communications Agency

PLMR, one of the UK’s most successful and fastest-growing communications agencies, has acquired Genesis as it strengthens its focus across the East of England and further develops the breadth and quality of the services it offers to its clients.

Genesis is one of the region’s most well-respected and innovative communications agencies employing 21 PR and digital marketing professionals. In October the firm won Agency of the Year for the third year in succession in the Chartered Institute of PR awards for Anglia, Thames and Chiltern region along with eight other awards.  It works with clients in business and professional services as well as education, training, health, public sector and charities.

The acquisition of Genesis will bring together its many strengths with PLMR’s existing capabilities in the region to establish one of the largest and most accomplished communications agencies in the East of England, with a comprehensive range of market-leading skills and services to offer to clients.

Kevin Craig, PLMR’s Chief Executive, said: “We have admired the successful growth of Genesis for many years and are delighted now to be able to work with the team. The acquisition gives us a market leading presence in the East of England.”

Co-founder of Genesis, Penny Arbuthnot, commented: “It was essential for us that any buyer of Genesis would share our values and be a fit with the Genesis services and sector expertise and we have found all of this with PLMR. The synergy has been clear from the outset and we are excited by the progressive approach, expertise and additional resources which bring new opportunities for clients and the team.”

Simon Darby, Director, East of England at PLMR, added: “This is a hugely exciting moment as PLMR and Genesis join forces in the East of England. The region is one of the most dynamic and exciting in the UK, home to many of the growing and innovative sectors that will be a key part of the country’s success in the coming years. Our acquisition of Genesis will support us to become the leading agency in the region and ensure that we can provide clients with the complete range of high-quality communications services they need.”

Mo Hussein, Managing Director of PLMR, said: “Welcoming the Genesis team to the PLMR family is part of our long-term strategy to deliver client-focused growth across the country. This news will further boost our East of England experience and know-how and enhance expertise and skills throughout the entire agency – benefitting existing and new clients and all our team members alike.”

The expertise across the PLMR Genesis team includes strategic advice for marketing and PR, media relations, reputation management, digital advertising, social media, websites, Search Engine Optimisation and brand design.  See www.genesispr.co.uk
