Suffolk-based PR, digital and marketing agency Genesis has chosen award-winning local mental health charity Suffolk Mind as its charity of the year for 2021.
Over the next 12 months, the Genesis team will be lending its time and expertise to support Suffolk Mind’s valuable work which makes a difference to thousands of people every year.
Suffolk Mind works across the mental health continuum from wellbeing to ‘severe and enduring’ mental ill-health, providing support and information for everyone. The charity was recently recognised above 60 others across the UK as an exemplar in its field by national Mind.
Amanda Sturgeon, External Relationship Manager at Suffolk Mind, said: “Demand for our services increases every year and we cannot hope to meet the increasing need without the help of supporters like Genesis.
“The team’s valuable ideas, expertise and fundraising efforts will provide a real boost to our activities as we continue on our mission to make Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.”
Each year Genesis provides pro-bono support to a different local charity, donating its services free of charge to help promote a worthwhile cause. Genesis has previously supported Ipswich based FIND (Families in Need) launching its website, social media and the highly successful FIND 50 £100,000 lifeline appeal to support the opening of a larger new food bank in Ipswich.
The Genesis team unanimously decided to support Suffolk Mind as its charity for 2021. Director, Penny Arbuthnot, said: “Emotional wellbeing plays a massive role in how we each feel at work every day and in our personal lives. Paying attention to our mental health has become even more important now that we are working from home full time, and keeping our team healthy is a priority.
“We’re proud to be partnering with Suffolk Mind as part of our commitment to positive wellbeing in the workplace and to supporting our community.”
