Advent has helped tell the story of how a little cartoon Christmas penguin gained popularity all over the world after it featured on a hospital charity’s T-shirt.

Coventry resident Margaret Keenan wore the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire Charity’s ‘Penguino’ T-shirt when she received the world’s first COVID-19 vaccine.

Demand for the T-shirt went through the roof – the charity received more than 5,000 orders when it usually gets 500.

Orders were made from all over the world, and T-shirts were even gifted to scientists at BioNTech, the firm which jointly created the vaccine.
