The 17 strong team at Genesis has pulled together to collect desperately needed supplies to give to food banks across East Anglia this Christmas.
With most of the Genesis team working from home, everyone’s donations have gone to their local food bank who are crying out for provisions to cope with the demand resulting from the pandemic’s impact on people’s livelihoods and with Christmas being a particularly busy time.
“We recognise that there’s many, many families and individuals who have suddenly fallen on hard times this year, so the team were keen to do something to help them”, commented account executive, Rose Ling.
One such food bank who received a donation is Ipswich based FIND (Families in Need) who Genesis has helped with pro bono PR and marketing support. Founder Maureen Reynel MBE said: “It’s a great gesture by the Genesis team as all food banks are in critical need for as much food as possible at this time of year and with the pandemic hitting so many so hard, we are truly grateful for all donations.”
Rose added: “Christmas is a time of giving but especially this year as the pandemic has left more families, couples and individuals needing help from food banks as unemployment and homelessness rises.”
Penny Arbuthnot, Director at Genesis, said: “It is so important to give back to our communities in tough times. We know first-hand, through supporting FIND over several years, how important food banks are to their local communities. As a team, we wanted to help food banks across the region and we hope our donations will make someone’s Christmas a little brighter.”
The Genesis team wishes everyone a happy and safe Christmas.
