Suffolk-based PR and marketing agency, Genesis, has announced a double promotion boost and vowed to continue investing in staff and new technology during the pandemic.
Digital marketing and website specialist Alex Raymond and former Archant journalist Matt Stott have been promoted to the positions of Digital Account Director and Account Manager respectively. The pair celebrated in lockdown style – in a Microsoft Teams video call.
The news caps off an unprecedented year in which the agency has adopted flexible working with 14 of its 18-strong team now permanently working from home. They believe the “silver linings” of the pandemic include an improved work-life balance and closer, more effective client relationships.
Director Penny Arbuthnot said: “We are very pleased to reward Alex and Matt with these well-deserved promotions during such difficult times for everyone and are proud of the wider team for embracing with diligence and creativity the challenges posed by the pandemic.”
Genesis downsized its Ipswich office space over the summer to reflect the ‘new normal’ of increased remote working while still providing enough space for future expansion.
Alex Raymond said: “I’m thrilled to have been promoted to Digital Account Director after marking five years at Genesis. In recent times, we have significantly stepped up our digital marketing services in response to increased demand and changing business needs.”
Matt Stott said: “I haven’t looked back since jumping the fence from journalism to PR and am delighted to have been recognised with a promotion to Account Manager.”
