We are thrilled to announce that we have secured the UK government’s accreditation in Cyber Essentials at a time when online threats have increased during Covid-19.
With more and more businesses increasing their online presence and the use of digital to ensure business success, so too has the risk of security breaches. A report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), suggests that in recent months there has been a rise in the number of cyber security incidents across the UK including leaked customer data.
As the recent lockdown in the UK slowly eases, many businesses that once operated from a single place of work, are now taking the decision to have their workforce work from home on a semi-permanent basis. The Cyber Essential accreditation shows we have the right online protection in place which is paramount for peace of mind of both the agency and that of our clients.
The accreditation shows that Genesis is protected against the most common online security threats with the assessment covering the systems we use, software, firewalls, ensuring that anti-virus software is routinely updated, and that all passwords and other data remains confidential.
Penny Arbuthnot, Director at Genesis, said: “It is vital that we take every measure we can to keep our data safe and prevent ourselves from being exposed as a target. With the focus on GDPR being so heavily regulated, this certificate shows that we take online security seriously.
“The protection of our clients’ data is exceptionally important to us and we will continue working to industry recommendations to ensure that we are as secure as possible.”
