#HereTogether with St Elizabeth Hospice in their time of need

We are delighted to be supporting St Elizabeth Hospice with their urgent fundraising appeal as they cope with the impact of Coronavirus.

The Genesis team has lent their time and expertise free of charge to help create the #HereTogether appeal and drive wide awareness through digital advertising. The campaign has so far reached 50,710 people and been seen 325,159 times.

It has raised an impressive £88,686.20 to date via Just Giving alone, which could help fund 3,151 hours of extra care provided by a nurse in the hospice.

Director of Genesis, Penny Arbuthnot, said: “When we were contacted by St Elizabeth Hospice we had no hesitation in offering our services free of charge to support the hospice’s valuable work which was under threat due to the COVID-19 crisis. It’s been incredibly rewarding for our team to work with the St Elizabeth Hospice team to create the #HereTogether fundraising campaign.”

St Elizabeth Hospice, based in Ipswich, is an independent charity providing free services to help improve the lives of those living with progressive and terminal illnesses through palliative care.

The hospice employs around 260 permanent staff with many based at the Hospice sites in Ipswich and working in the community. They also have 31 shops.

Judi Newman, Development Director for St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Every year, our services cost £10.5 million to run with 75% of that income generated from the local community.

“We very much rely on fundraising, donations, and volunteers to keep going, but with social distancing and self-isolation during the COVID-19 crisis that has been impossible.

“It was necessary to launch an urgent public appeal and we were delighted that Genesis stepped forward to help. We have been so impressed with their can-do attitude and creative digital marketing expertise. The #HereTogether appeal has helped us create an immediate impact and raise vital funds to continue our work in the community.”

Each year Genesis PR provides pro-bono support to a different local charity, donating its services free of charge to help promote a worthwhile cause. Suffolk Mind, Genesis Orwell Mencap and (more recently) the Ipswich based foodbank charity FIND (Families in Need) are among the charities Genesis has supported.

The agency, based in the East of England, provides intelligent solutions with a multi-channel approach to communications in today’s digital world; something which has become even more relevant during the recent COVID-19 crisis. Genesis works with clients who are leaders and influencers in their fields, including in the public and charity sectors, health and social care, training, education and business.
