On Sunday, I appeared on Sky News to talk about Prince Andrew’s interview broadcast on Saturday 16th November 2019. The interview – one of the most memorable ever given by a member of the British Royal Family – was a truly remarkable moment in British broadcasting. I watched it from start to finish and could not believe what I saw. It is very easy to join the many voices criticising this interview but the detail of quite how bad it was, merits further exploration.

In my 25 years working in communications and having undertaken myself or advised clients on hundreds of interviews, I have rarely seen one with so many flaws on the part of the interviewee and by proxy their team. I attempted to discuss these in more detail in my appearance on Sky News here:
