Multi-million pound Hinckley firm backs grassroots football club

A multi-million pound turnover company in Hinckley has ensured a local junior football side looks the business again next season.

A multi-million pound turnover company in Hinckley has ensured a local junior football side looks the business again next season.

UK Flooring Direct kitted out Croft Juniors Under-8s Blues in a brand new home kit last season and, as the team gets set for the 2019-20 campaign, they’ll look smart in their grey change strip when they play away.

UK Flooring Direct moved to Hinckley in 2017 and has grown to more than 100 staff over recent months.

They were introduced to Croft Juniors by Lee Corden, director of regional PR firm Advent Communications, who also coaches the team alongside Pete Kirby.

The ten-player squad plays in the Leicester & District Mutual League and will move up to seven-a-side next season after enjoying great success in the smaller format of the game over the past two seasons.

In that time, they have won two regional tournaments at the same time as focusing on fun and development.

Lee said: “We are very proud to carry the UK Flooring Direct name on our new kits, which look fantastic. The support of businesses is vital in the running of local junior teams, which do so much good in the local community.

“Being able to provide a new kit is a massive reward for all the players’ efforts over the course of the last season. They are all working really hard to develop and improve and our ethos is all about them having fun and enjoying it at the same time.

“They all want to go out and win – of course they do – but we try to provide an environment that lets them develop and play with a smile on their face rather than being too hung up on results at this age.”

Jason Ashby, CEO of UK Flooring Direct, said: “As we continue to grow the business, we will always remember how important it is to be a good neighbour and contributor to the community.

“It’s great to be able to give back to a range of sports teams and community groups in the area because I am a big believer in the benefits that sport brings to individuals and the community as a whole.

“We are delighted to see the UK Flooring Direct name on the Croft shirts and we wish them every success for the new season.”
