Advent Communications has assisted in the launch of a social media competition to mark Shakespeare’s birthday celebrations for 2019.

Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebrations and Shakespeare’s England are looking for budding playwrights to rewrite their favourite Shakespearean stories within the body of a single Tweet to celebrate the bard’s birthday in April.

Contestants are being asked to submit their entries via Twitter, which has a 280-character limit per Tweet, using the hashtag #280ornot280, and there have already been some intriguing entries.

Winners will be announced as Stratford welcomes thousands of visitors to the celebrations on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.
