Genesis is capping off another strong year of growth with the announcement of two internal promotions.
Former Archant reporter Matt Stott and SEO specialist Jack Alderton have both been appointed to the position of Senior Account Executives.
Jack Alderton, Senior Digital Account Executive, who joined Genesis in January after gaining a digital media grounding in the travel and tourism industry, has underscored the importance of Genesis’ digital team by improving website traffic, Google rankings and other key digital metrics for his clients, which include local and national businesses operating in the AV Technology, HVAC and property development industries.
He said: “SEO is just one of many vital weapons in digital armouries for businesses and is a constantly evolving beast, which is why it’s important we stay on top of everything digital, so our clients can reap the benefits. For example, since we started SEO for a long-standing client, their website traffic jumped by around 40% in the space of just six months.”
Matt Stott, Senior Account Executive, PR, a former senior reporter with Archant, helps lead his clients by securing targeted media coverage, running successful e-marketing campaigns and events, and managing social media accounts.
He said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed transitioning from the world of journalism to PR over the past eight months.
“The Genesis team have been incredibly supportive, embedding me into their caring culture, and have really impressed me with their dedication, expertise, and willingness to stay ahead of the curve. It’s easy to see why we’re East Anglia’s sole representative in PR Week’s Top 40 agencies outside of London for 2018.”
Penny Arbuthnot, Director at Genesis, says: “Matt and Jack are fully deserving in their promotions. We endeavour to create an environment where our team can flourish in their careers and we fully support them in training, taking on more responsibility and learning new skills. Our staff are dedicated, and we like to reward them for their hard work.”
Genesis will end 2018 on a high. The agency recently won five categories at the Chartered Institute of Public Relation’s PRide Awards for the Anglia, Thames and Chiltern Regions, including winning Gold for Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy and Gold for Best Corporate and Business Communications Campaign. In May 2018, PR Week, the leading publication for the PR and communications industry, listed Genesis in its 2018 Top 40 PR agencies Outside London. Genesis, listed at 38, is the only PR agency in the East of England to feature. The successful year includes six new staff appointments and seven in-house promotions.
Genesis’ services include PR strategy, corporate communications and reputation management, integrated social media, digital marketing and SEO. It works with clients in a variety of sectors which include business and professional services, manufacturing and logistics, building and construction, training and education, trade bodies and public sectors.
