Genesis had a glittering night of success at the Anglia, Thames and Chiltern regional PRide Awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Held at the Guildhall in Cambridge on 15 November, Genesis won Gold in the overall Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy award, Gold for Best Corporate and Business Communications Campaign, Silver for Best Not-for-profit campaign and Silver for Best Integrated Campaign. One of our account managers, Annabelle Rennie, won the Silver award for the Outstanding Young Communicator.

The regional PRide Awards recognise the outstanding work of leading public relations teams who demonstrate commitment to excellence and best practice in nine regions across the UK.

Judges of the Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy category commented: “Genesis showed a real commitment to professional development and a demonstrable investment in their staff. They’ve adopted a genuinely differentiated approach in their use of SEO to inform PR strategy and this approach is clearly helping them win new business.”

Judges of Genesis’ Corporate and Business Communications entry for its work with OFTEC, the trade association for the oil heating industry, commented: “This is a fantastic campaign that had direct and unequivocal results, being instrumental in affecting a ministerial level change in policy that favoured the trade association client which was previously excluded from the policy. By approaching All Party Parliamentary Groups, local MPs, trade and local media in communities that rely on oil heating, the campaign messages reached all the affected parties, highlighting the need for the policy change.”

Speaking about the awards, Penny Arbuthnot, director of Genesis, said: “The digital world has changed forever how people and business communicate and we have invested in our team and our services to differentiate Genesis, advising and leading our clients in the new media landscape and optimising the opportunities of digital as part of an integrated PR approach. We are thrilled to win Gold for Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy and this is a huge accolade for every member of our dedicated and hard-working team.”

Genesis will end 2018 on a high following a successful year of development including six new staff appointments and seven in-house promotions, bringing the team up to seventeen strong. In May 2018 PR Week, the leading publication for the PR and communications industry, listed Genesis in its 2018 Top 40 PR agencies Outside London.
