Kathryn Adams has been named as a finalist at the Coventry & Warwickshire Apprentice of The Year Awards 2017, which will take place at Coventry Cathedral on Thursday, November 9.

A Coventry administrator who has gone “above and beyond” in her role has been shortlisted for a regional apprentice award.

Kathryn Adams has been named as a finalist at the Coventry & Warwickshire Apprentice of The Year Awards 2017, which will take place at Coventry Cathedral on Thursday, November 9.

She is an apprentice office administrator at Advent Communications in Electric Wharf, Coventry, and one of five finalists in the Business Management, Marketing and Sales award.

Kathryn is also completing her qualifications at Coventry College Henley Campus.

The Coventry & Warwickshire Apprentice of the Year Awards showcase and celebrate individuals who have exceeded expectations and made a positive contribution to the area.

Kathryn looks after a wide range of administration responsibilities in her position at the award-winning PR agency.

This includes filing, scanning, answering the telephone and directing calls, distributing post and booking the meeting room – contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the office.

In addition to her day-to-day role, she completed her Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration in five months at Coventry College Henley Campus – the quickest of any apprentice at the company in eight years.

Julie Bristow, office manager at Advent Communications, said:

“We have been very impressed with Kathryn since she joined us at Advent earlier this year.

“She has gone above and beyond what we have asked of her and become an integral member of the team. I am able to leave things in her capable hands and know they will be completed to the highest standard.

“The team is constantly telling me how delighted they are with her attitude, work ethic and efficiency especially when they ask her to prepare something before a meeting.

“Kathryn would be a great ambassador and we wish her the best of luck in this award.”

Emma Ward, apprenticeship manager at the Henley Campus, said:

“We’re delighted that the great work Kathryn is doing has been recognised in her nomination for this award.

“It’s important as an apprentice to be always looking to improve in your position and it is clear that she has done that since her first day with Advent Communications.

“The feedback we have received on her performance since joining has been only positive, she is a great example of how to really impress at a business as an apprentice.”

The Coventry & Warwickshire Apprentice of The Year Awards is supported by Touch FM, Rugby FM, the Careers & Enterprise Company, Coventry College, NFU Mutual, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Training, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Alchemy Finishes and Warwickshire County Council.
