Professor Tim Morris is a Non-Executive Director. He contributes a wealth of relevant experience and expertise in animal health and welfare, food and feed safety and audit, biosciences and research, as well as in wider public affairs.
Professor Morris qualified and practised as a veterinary surgeon, obtained a PhD from the University of London and worked in medicines research and then public and government affairs at GlaxoSmithKline for 20 years, working across industry and with media and governments.
He went on to establish and lead the new established British Horseracing Authority’s medication and anti-doping programme and animal welfare strategy as Director of Equine Science and Welfare. As part of this work he established close working links with other prestigious sports such as the International Equestrian Federation and the Greyhound Board of Great Britain as well as government bodies and animal welfare organisations.
He brings a broad perspective, wide network, and knowledge base across leadership of teams, professional and voluntary activities, communications, media and public affairs related to science, veterinary medicine, agriculture, commerce, and also the wider use of animals in society to PLMR and its clients.
